Autograph letter signed, dated : London, 1 January 1837, to an unidentified friend in Paris, 1837 Jan. 1.

Thanking him for his letter, which came through [Hubert] Ries, saying that the recipient would welcome not having to complain of the indifference of the directors of the Paris theatre, asking if there is also some intrigue on the side of the Italians, describing the musical soirees, similar to Baillot's in Paris and Schuppanzigh's in Vienna, that Mori, Lindley, Watts, and Moralt give under the name Classical Chamber Concerts, and Blagrove (and others) under the name Quartett Concerts, noting some solo concerts that he himself will give--Scarlatti, Handel, Bach, then sonatas of Beethoven and Weber--, mentioning Potter, Anderson, Goldschmidt, etc.
